Learn French vocabulary by speaking it

French rewards people who speak it out loud. The written language hides its sounds, so learners who mostly read and tap through apps often understand far more than they can say.

FluenSi turns the French words you come across into speaking practice. Save a word from a conversation, a song or a menu, and FluenSi adds its gender, conjugations and real examples. Then it asks you to use the word in a sentence of your own, out loud, and shows you exactly what a native speaker would change.

How FluenSi breaks down a saved word
The hard part

What makes French vocabulary tricky

And how speaking your own sentences gets you past it.

You can't trust the spelling

Prend, prends and prennent look close but sound different, and half the letters in "ils prennent" are silent. Reading French teaches you the wrong habits. Hearing each word read aloud, and saying it in your own sentences, builds the right ones.

Every noun has a gender

Le livre, la librairie, le problème: gender has to be learned with the noun, and it changes every adjective that follows. FluenSi keeps the article with each saved noun, so you always learn "la voiture", never just "voiture".

Avoir or être in the past

"J'ai mangé" but "je suis allé", and with être the participle agrees: "elle est allée". These are the mistakes that grading catches in your spoken sentences, with a one-line reason so the rule sticks.

False friends

Actuellement means "currently", une librairie is a bookshop and sensible means "sensitive". Real example sentences for every word you save show how French speakers actually use it, before the English meaning leads you astray.

How it works

Four steps to fluency

1

Translate and save

Speak or type a word or phrase, get an instant translation, then tap to save it as a focus word.

2

Get the full picture

FluenSi instantly analyses it: meaning, part of speech, full conjugation table and real example sentences.

3

Review by speaking, not guessing

At the right moment, say a fresh sentence with the word, never the same one twice.

4

Get feedback that sharpens you

After each review, your sentences are graded, with suggested edits to improve them.

French FAQ

Learning French with FluenSi

Will FluenSi help with my French pronunciation?

You hear every saved word and example read aloud, and every review asks you to speak a full sentence. The app understands you through your phone's speech recognition, so speaking clearly enough to be understood is part of the practice.

Does it tell me if a French noun is masculine or feminine?

Yes. Saved nouns show their article and gender, and the forms table shows the plural. You learn the word and its gender together.

How is this different from a French course?

There's no fixed syllabus. You learn the French you meet in your own life, then FluenSi makes you use it in sentences at the right intervals, so it moves from recognition into speech.

Can I use FluenSi with Duolingo or classes?

Yes, and it works well that way. Save the new words from your course or class, and FluenSi turns them into spoken practice with feedback.
