Learn Italian vocabulary by speaking it

Italian sounds easy until you have to say something yourself: suddenly every noun needs the right article, every preposition wants to merge with it, and the past tense has two auxiliaries to choose from.

FluenSi gets you saying Italian, not just recognising it. Save the words you meet, from a menu, a film or a conversation, and FluenSi adds their articles, conjugations and examples. Then it asks you to use each word in a new sentence, out loud, and shows you what a native speaker would change.

How FluenSi breaks down a saved word
The hard part

What makes Italian vocabulary tricky

And how speaking your own sentences gets you past it.

Articles that change with the word

Il, lo, la, l', i, gli, le: the article depends on the noun's gender, number and first letters. FluenSi keeps the article with each saved noun, so you learn "lo zaino" and "gli amici" as you'll say them.

Prepositions that merge

A plus la becomes alla, in plus il becomes nel, and idioms decide which one you need: you go "in spiaggia", not "alla spiaggia". Sentence feedback catches exactly these, with the corrected sentence and a short reason.

Essere or avere in the past

"Ho mangiato" but "sono andata", and with essere the participle agrees with the subject: "ci siamo divertiti". Saying your own past-tense sentences, and seeing them corrected, is the fastest way to get this right without thinking.

Double consonants

Pala and palla, caro and carro: a doubled consonant changes the word. Hearing each word read aloud and saying it in full sentences trains your ear and mouth together.

Italian FAQ

Learning Italian with FluenSi

Does FluenSi show Italian conjugations?

Yes. Every verb gets its infinitive, past tense and full conjugation tables, plus real example sentences. Nouns show their article and plural.

How do spoken reviews work?

When a word is due, FluenSi asks you to say a new sentence with it. You can't repeat an old one, so you build fresh sentences every time. At the end, each sentence gets a score, the smallest correction and a reason.

Can I learn Italian for travel with FluenSi?

It suits travel well: translate what you need to say, save the useful words, and practise them out loud before your trip, so they come out naturally when you need them.

I'm just starting Italian. Where do I begin?
